NRSG2872 : Adult Health I and Applications

This course focuses on an introduction to the nursing care of the adult patient with medical and/or surgical health alterations. Emphasis is placed on care of the patient with alterations in the following categories and concepts: acid-base balance, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, cardiac, respiratory, integumentary system, pain management, neurology, integumentary, immunity, and oncology.  Concepts of health promotion interprofessional collaboration, therapeutic communication and evidence-based practice are incorporated throughout the course.  This course provides the opportunity for application of the theory. Emphasis will be placed on care for the medical and surgical patient with stable or chronic health care needs.
